Paul Paulson

Paul Paulson was born in 1872 in Tellemarken, Norway. Paul married Minnie Borgen in 1902, and they had one daughter, Florence.

On April 13, 1899, Paul was appointed the postmater of Breidablik. Later, Paul became one of the founding fathers of Poulsbo. He was the Mayor of Poulsbo, president of Paulson, Hostmark & Bestul, and and a leading banker and Republican of Kitsap County. Shortly before he died, Paul had travelled to the eastern United States where he visited the tomb of President George Washington, something he wanted to do his whole life. While back east, he was granted a half hour audience by President Calvin Coolidge.

Paul was one of the state's most prominent members of the Scottish Rite Masons, was acting worshipful master of Warren G. Harding Lodge, No. 260, F.&A.M. and a member of the Nile Temple, Ancient Arabic Order. Paul was also one of the large stockholders of the First National Bank of Poulsbo and a member of its board. Ever since his young manhood he had taken a prominent part in the civic and commercial life of Poulsbo, extending his activities until they included all of Kitsap County and Seattle. He was a Coolidge Republican and lead the fight for Mr. Coolidge in Kitsap County.
